Arthritis Can Trigger Grief

Grief is a strong emotion for people, regardless of whether the sadness occurs due to the loss of their beloved ones or major change in life. Otherwise called the normal way of reacting by both internally and externally to the perception of loss. It may be experienced when there is physical loss like death or psychological loss like losing a job or divorce. Grief may be seen when there is a psychological, physical, social and behavioral response to loss of something. The other interchangeable words for grief are mourning, grieving, bereaved and bereavement.

Arthritis can trigger grief.  Even in those who are on medications like Celebrex or Celecoxib the kind of pain relief they get might require frequent refills. 

Grief can be hard and stressful but it is not an illness. It helps us to let go of the past and adjust to the new life without our beloved ones or things. People grieve in their own way. In the initial stage people may feel shocked and numbness which is followed by strange and painful thoughts and feelings. There exist a thought of confusion, disbelief, and feeling of sadness, guilt, feeling alone, anger, fear, nervousness and low confidence level.

Crying a lot, suffering from disturbances, blaming others, having problems while sleeping, eating etc, having low of energy, always feeling about the beloved ones are the different ways in which grief is felt. Grief may be experienced more longer time than they imagined and there is no quick fix. Grief never goes away but it may become lessened as the time passes away. Mourning can lost for months or years. If you don’t know about the reason for your grief then it is important to consult a health care professional. It was studied that realizing the cause will help to get relieved from grieving. Getting help from our family members or group will help in recovering and also we must learn to adjust to a death or any bodily illness.
